Vinay Trivedi #Biography

Born in Saurashtra. Vinay Trivedi was influenced by the folk art and the primitive art. He was fascinated by Madhubani Painting and used it as a base of his work. He used several mediums but loved waterproof inks so that he could enrich the brightness of his paintings and infuse it with the glory of Saurashtra Culture.
VinayTrivedi on his Contribution
in the field of Art
I have selected the folk version
of madhuvani (a living .folk tradition of Bihar) painting as base of my
drawings. Of course, I have to modify it a bit with the help of Kangra
Paintings which is helpful to add a lyrical touch with rhythm to create a kind of
poetic ideal situation, just to avoid the static and a bit monotonous
presentation. I have tried to improvise that conception by adding the folk
motifs used in embroidery, a highly developed craft in Saurashtra (Gujarat), my
own home town. It was brilliant colours used in the drapery of the villagers
which has arrested my attention since childhood. I have tried for years
together to bring out that illuminated brightness with the use of all kinds of
available colours, oils, watercolours tubes as well as transparent, suddenly I
came across coloured waterproof inks. To my surprise I found the result quite
satisfactory. And I found out that it had the same illuminative bright quality
of colours, which I have perceived in folk embroidery of Saurashtra. I was
amused to achieve that transparent brightness of which I was in a tense need to
enrich my conception in painting. Here the brightness was at its maximum
strenght so as to create an illusion of light. I was intending to interweave
light in my colour scheme since long. Reverting to main point, I was much more impressed
and attracted by the naive a vigorous presentation in folk art and primitive
art. In fact, anybody who wants to tryout a fresh revival of his concept,
should revert his own place and surrounding area, as it is quite simple and
easier to understand that art form, since he is born and brought up in the same
environment.
