Surya Prakash #Biography
Born in Hyderabad, Suryaprakash has been part of India’s most important art exhibitions around the globe including the Indian Painters 69, Max Muller Bhavan, Kolkata, 1969, Collective show with K K Hebbar, Frankfurt, Germany, 1975, Modeme Malerei lndiens, Frankfurt, Germany, 1979, Five Indian Artists, Manheiem, Germany, 1981, Modern India Art, Kunsthalle Darmstadt, Germany, 1982, Modem Indian Paintings, Hirshorn Museum, Washington, 1982. Till date he has held more than 45 solo shows and participated in various group exhibitions. Suryaprakash has exhibited with all the major galleries and auction houses in India and his works have travel to all the major cities in India and abroad.
The master of colours and perspective is honoured with several awards like National Award, Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, 1966, Kala Vibhushan, All India Fine Arts and Crafts Society (AIFACS), New Delhi, 1977 and Awarded Senior Fellowship, Department of Culture, Government of India, 1983-86.
The legend Surya Prakash is defined by his journey of six decades. He was recently honoured by the National Gallery of Modern Art, Bangalore through a retrospective show.
